About the teacher…
Born and raised in Orange County, CA. Lives in Anaheim, CA. Services most cities in the area.
My first job was actually not teaching! I started working at a music store called “Tustin Music Center” as an assistant in 2009 while taking lessons there for fun.
I was promoted to assistant manager in 2010.
Started teaching (4 students) in 2012.
Promoted to store manager in 2014.
By then, I had so many wonderful students to teach I was promoted to full-time teacher and stepped away from management in 2016.
Since then, I have dedicated my time to my long-standing students and the pursuit of all things piano. I strive for consistency and retention and my goal is to teach piano in a way that fosters true enjoyment for the student's musical goals while developing technique for modern and classical styles. I currently teach around 30 students privately and have two recitals per year.
In addition to being a very resourceful music finder (pop/anime/video game music/classical music), I also heavily encourage my students to develop their own preferences and will help them learn whatever pieces they choose. Aside from studying under many professors and various colleges to shape my own skills, I have also completed the piano pedagogy certification at Fullerton college to further educate my students in the piano's history, as well as beginning/intermediate/advanced technique builders and repertoire selections.
While I DO NOT enter students into music programs such as Certificate of Merit or The Royal Conservatory of Music, I arrange my entire curriculum and lesson planning around those standards and technical requirements.
My vision is that music should last one’s lifetime, so let’s get to exploring. :]
